Ontario Steps Up H1N1 Response

Ontario's medical officer of health says flu clinics for high priority groups will be doubled this week.  The health ministry is also asking healthy people to stay away from the clinics until the most vulnerable can be vaccinated.  Clinics in Simcoe Muskoka are set to begin in several communities on Tuesday.

Serious Assault in Orillia

A 52 year old man was airlifted to a Buffalo hospital after a vicious attack in downtown Orillia overnight.  Police say they found the victim on the sidewalk outside a bar at West Street and Mississaga Street around 1 o'clock Sunday morning.  He was taken to hospital with life threatening head injuries.  Police are looking to interview two males who were present at the time, and two females who were also seen before hand.  If you have any information call Orillia OPP.

Busy Halloween Night Downtown

A 27 year old man was stabbed while waiting in line outside the Queen's Hotel in Barrie overnight.  He was taken to a Toronto hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Barrie Police say they were very busy in the downtown core as Halloween party goers headed out.  25 people were kept in the cells overnight.
