Singhampton Family Homeless

A fire destroyed a farmhouse near Singhampton overnight, and six family members managed to escape with just the clothes on their backs. The home was heated with wood and oil, and firefighters say the basement was full of fuel, which made it impossible to knock the blaze down.

 

Flu Shots for Everyone

The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit is among the first in the province to offer flu shots to everyone, starting today. Shots are also available for anyone over the age of six months in Grey-Bruce, York Region, and at ten clinics in Toronto.

 

Teen Attacked in Aurora

A 14 year old girl was assaulted in Aurora – and police are asking for the public’s help finding who did it. Police do not believe it was a random attack, and are reminding young people in the area to take extra precautions if they are out at night.

 

Christmas for Soldiers

General Rick Hillier is in Wasaga Beach today helping to pack up thousands of holiday care packages for Canadian troops in Afghanistan. It's the third year for the project, and the biggest yet. By the time all the boxes are packed, there will be enough for 2500 Canadian soldiers to get a little piece of home this Christmas.
