Money for Children's Aid

A lifeline is on the way for financially embattled Children's Aid Societies in the province, including the one in Simcoe County.  The province announced almost $27-million dollars in funding on Monday, and the Simcoe County C.A.S. will get $2.9-million of that.  The C.A.S. was facing a budget shortfall and said it would be bankrupt by the end of the month.

Flanagan Facebook Appeal

Friends and family of Barrie murder victim Alexandra Flanagan are hoping to keep the young woman's death in the headlines as the search for her killer continues.  Flanagan was last seen in June of 2007, and her remains were found in different locations in Barrie.  A new Facebook page has been set up encouraging people to post videos and comments to keep the murder fresh in people's minds in hopes of triggering new leads.

Family Day

There was plenty to see and do around the region as people took advantage of a long weekend with the second annual Family Day.  From indoors to outdoors, it was a chance for families to spend time together and take advantage of some nice winter weather.
