Sleep And Diabetes

The amount of sleep you get could influence your chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

A study in a recent issue of  "Diabetes Care" suggests that getting less than six hours of shut-eye per night, or more than 8 hours, significantly raises the risk of contracting the disease.

Researchers at Yale University looked at the long-term impact of too much or too little sleep and found that there was twice the risk of diabetes if you slept too little and a three-fold risk if you slept more than 7 or 8 hours a night.

The risks, however, can be greatly risked with medication that controls hormone production levels.
