Adult Stress And Child Suicide

A stressful job or ongoing stressful situation can take a heavy toll on adults..... and their children too.

A British Columbia study has revealed that the children of fathers in stressful jobs have a much higher risk of committing suicide.

250 of about 20 thousand children included in the 15 year study attempted or committed suicide.

For the most part they were kids of fathers in high stress assembly line jobs in area sawmills.

The study authors say those jobs are more stressful than management or skilled trades because they're boring, and the workers have little control over what they do.
