Hampton Talks Trash
Ontario NDP Leader Howard Hampton talked trash in  London today. (july 6th )

Hampton was speaking against the expansion of the Green Lane landfill.
.
Last week the Green-Lane landfill won an appeal which could see it expanded by 10-million tonnes. Much of that capacity could be used for Toronto trash.

Hampton wants London Area Liberal MPP's to pledge to fight the move, but so far there have been no takers.

He also hopes that others will log onto the Ontario NDP website http://www.ontariondp.com/ to voice their opposition.

Meanwhile, Elgin-Middlesex MPP Steve Peters says he won't oppose the Green Lane expansion, saying it has already gone through an extensive consultation process.

Peters also says that when he was the Mayor of St Thomas the Ontario NDP forced his city to ship its garbage to Michigan after closing down the Green Lane landfill for months.
