Goji Berry Juice
Some believe a tiny berry from the Himalayas is like the fountain of youth...that it provides a magic potion that cures what ails you.
Dr. Earl Mindell began his career as a pharmacist, but these days he promotes healthy living using vitamins, supplements, alternative therapies and he's a huge proponent of the Goji Berry and it's juice.
And he is not alone.
Carol Meharg says she's like a new person these days.
A victim of severe Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Depression, Carol tried prescription drugs, some of which caused excessive weight gain, over-the-counters, herbals, and countless other remedies before she found Goji Juice.
Dr. Earl Mindell, a renown nutritionist and author, learned about Goji from inhabitants of Inner Mongolia who lived well into their hundreds. Their healthy diets had one big difference...the Goji Fruit.
They eat the berries or drink a beverage from it on a daily basis and they feel that's the reason that they have lived so long.
It is probably the most powerful anti-aging food/juice known to man.
Much research later, Dr. Mindell has found a way to put the benefits of Goji into a juice. He says it works in two ways, first by bolstering the immune system to a normal level, then on a cellular level.
You have trillions of cells in your body and it basically helps your cells communicate more efficiently and prevents the DNA from mutating which can cause some of these conditions like cancer.
It's said to stimulate human growth hormones, which we produce less of as we age. Dr. Mindell drinks 2 ounces of Goji each day. "After just 5 days I was sleeping 4 or 5 hours straight and I know to most people that's not a big thing, but to me that was a miracle because I hadn't slept that long for a long time."
And after 2 weeks..."I started to notice that the pain, was like, it was gone. Basically what it does is it helps you cope with stress and Goji in the Tibetan dialect means happy so your demeanor changes, it's incredible. To be able to laugh again and be me and wanna see people...the simple things that most people take for granted..to me that's everything."
The juice tastes like Pomegranate with a bit of bite. It's not cheap, 4 litres will set you back about $145-$150.
Dr. Mindell stresses to check with your doctor or health care practitioner before taking Goji.
