Tooth Decay Detector
Canadian researchers are working on a tool that could detect tooth decay before it happens.

Your neighbourhood dentist may soon have the device at his or her fingertips.

Researchers say it will look like a small wand that shines light on a tooth.

It will reveal if bacteria is hiding in the plaque and eroding the enamel.

The National Research Council has been given a grant to test and develop the device.

Researchers say it may prompt more people to visit the dentist if they don't have to worry about drilling and filling.
