Londoner Travels to Yugoslavia For Cancer Treatment

A London man is making national news today and has Ontario's Health Minister reviewing policy.

Branislav Djukic is a London cab driver who fled Yugoslavia more than a decade ago.

He recently retured to his homeland to undergo cancer surgery on his kidney.

Djukic paid $5000 for the operation which he would have had to wait 14 weeks for in Ontario.

Now, the Health Services Appeal and Review Board has ordered the Ontario government to reimburse Djukic because the wait time he faced was too long.

Health minister George Smitherman has announced that he will review the process for handling out-of-country medical care.
