With gas and diesel supplies in Southwstern Ontario being stretched by the Nanticoke fire, The London Transit Commission found its supply of diesel fuel suddenly in jeopardy.
And with 36,000 passengers every day, the LTC went in search of new supplies.
But they were turned away be several suppliers, because emergency services like fire trucks and ambulances also use diesel and had priority in supply.
London Transit fianlly found a supply through Marathon Oil in Detroit, which should keep the buses running through March 10th.
But if the Nanticoke supply through Imperial Oil isn't back in the supply chain then, the cost and the security of supply will once again be in question, and there could be ripple effects in the economy.
