Guy Goodwin: Reporter

"Baby ducklings are imprinted with the first thing they see. See a cat instead of a mother duck...and they think of themselves as cats. So it is, apparently, with this news person. My father signed on as a freelance cameraman with CFPL-TV in the 50s...shortly after the station went on the air. I saw the camera, saw his enjoyment in his work, and was imprinted. Where my father went, so went I. Me with my camera, he with his. That first paying story...the arrival of Canada Geese at a farmer's sanctuary...is still remembered fondly. Although I've made forays into publishing, film production and magazine writing and worked as a TV producer and Assignment Editor, nothing has been as satisfying as being a video-journalist..."a one-man band", responsible for all aspects of getting a story to air. Biographically...I'm married to Veda, a social worker, and have two married children. One of my grandchildren shows an aptitude for photography...so the prospects for a third generation in TV journalism are good."
