'A' News at 6 & 11 - Anchor - Windsor
Jim Crichton's journalism career spans more than 30 years in radio, wire service and television and includes stops in Welland, Niagara Falls, Kitchener and Halifax. Jim has covered royal tours, interviewed celebrities like William Shatner and reported on tragic events such as the Westray coal mine disaster. His work covering the crash of Swissair Flight 111 won both an Atlantic Journalism Award and national RTNDA award.
Jim has lectured in journalism at the University of King's College in Halifax and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brock University in St. Catharines. Favourite hobbies including reading, and listening to everything from the Tragically Hip to Miles Davis. Jim can frequently be seen at car shows in the summer, and likes classic cars and motorcycles. Jim has been anchor of Windsor's'A' News since 2000. He's involved in numerous community events like the Carrousel of The Nations on the Windsor riverfront, Bluesfest and the VON Chocolate Lover's Brunch.
He is a member of the Salvation Army advisory board in Windsor.
