Dan MacLellan was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where he excelled at public speaking as a youngster, winning his first award at the age of 11. Dan's career initially took him on a quite different path - the Canadian Armed Forces. While in the Naval Reserve, a high school English teacher convinced him to pursue a career in broadcasting. Graduating from the Atlantic Media Institute with honours in 1994, Dan began his television career as a reporter with ATV in Halifax. Dan joined Global Television in 1997, where he worked as a business reporter, videographer and weekend anchor. In March of 2000, Dan was named the 11 o'clock anchor in Edmonton. Dan has won wide recognition for his storytelling abilities and live coverage of events and has received an Atlantic Journalism Award. Dan is currently anchor of /A\ News at 6.
Education:
Atlantic Media Institute, honors and was recently accepted to the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg, Florida.
