A mayoral candidate is confirming someone broke into his headquarters and stole valuable political information. Ottawa police are now investigating the break and enter at Alex Munter's campaign office.
Investigators say it took place sometime overnight Thursday at the office on St. Patrick St. in the market.
Munter's office says thieves managed to snag a small number of strategically important computers from different parts of the building. They say they contained databases with voter identification and fundraising details.
Munter's office says this is not the first break-in. There have been two others at the home and office of two key campaign staff members.
And an important note to anyone who has donated to the Alex Munter campaign - his people insist your financial information has not been compromised and it is secure.
