Tsunami Hits Solomon Islands
At least 13 people have been killed in a tsunami that hit the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific, and the death toll is expected to rise.

Huge waves churned by a massive earthquake crashed ashore Monday, wiping away entire villages and triggering a tsunami emergency from Australia to Hawaii.

A government spokesman says numerous villages in the country's remote west report people being swept away as waves plowed through their communities.

An official at the Canadian High Commission in Canberra, Australia, says no Canadians are reported to be in the areas affected by the tsunami.
