In less than 24 hours, residents in the Vanier area are planning to take to the streets demanding the province clean up their neighbourhood.
Residents are tired of the crack houses, crime and prostitution in the area and are desperate for help. Vanier is an area with a bad reputation, and residents want that to change.
Evan Soikie, a Vanier resident, says earlier this year he turned to his M.P.P. for help, but says Madeline Meilleur told him this provincial government can't be held accountable for the mistakes of previous governments.
Evan and his group plan to bring matresses from the crack houses his group has shut down and demand Meilleur do her part to close down the rest.
Madeleine Meilleur could not be reached for an interview. The rally will take place Thursday afternoon at one o'clock on Montreal Road.
