A Medieval Way to Learn French (SEE VIDEO)
Local Author launches children's book that uses knights and unicorns to teach French.

Ben Franklin Place in Kanata was a Renaissance-era haven on Sunday for the launch of a new children's book.

Local author Tara Natter launched her book "Sabita et les mots magiques" with a Renaissance fair that included sword fights, dancing and lutes.

The book is intended to help young kids learn French.  The author, a former Grade 1 French immersion teacher, wrote the book after she had trouble finding books that she could use in class.

The Ottawa Sword Guild put on weapons displays and the Twelfth Knight Society showcased medieval dancing to provide atmosphere at the event.
