We Remember

Join 'A' News on Remembrance Day for a special LIVE presentation called "We Remember".

Sandra Blaikie will host the program and Jennifer Hall will be reporting LIVE from the National War Memorial, leading up to the National Remembrance Day Service at 11 a.m.

"We Remember" begins Tuesday, November 11th at 10:30 a.m.

Remembrance Day Schedule Changes

  • Ottawa City Hall and all six Client Service Centres, including the Government Service Centres located at 110 Laurier Avenue West and 580 Terry Fox Drive, will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. The Metcalfe Client Service Centre will be open on Monday, November 10 (instead of Tuesday, November 11) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Business will resume as usual on Wednesday, November 12.
  • The City’s Provincial Offences Court, located at 100 Constellation Crescent, will also be closed on Tuesday, November 11. Business will resume as usual on Wednesday, November 12.
  • Recycling, garbage, leaf and yard waste, and multi-residential garbage container collection will take place on its regularly scheduled day with no changes to the collection schedule.
  • OC Transpo will operate revised weekday schedule with minor reductions on Tuesday, November 11. Service is free on November 11 for veterans wearing their uniform or medals.   • OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, except the Rideau Centre office, which will be open from 12:30 to 9 p.m.
  • The OC Transpo Telephone Information Centre (613-741-4390) will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on November 11, while Customer Relations (613-842-3600) will be closed.
  • All pools, arenas and fitness centers will be open on Tuesday, November 11 for public swimming, skating and fitness classes and following regular schedules. Please check with otttawa.ca or the facility of your choice for details. Most registered programs at swimming pools, community centers and arenas will be offered. City operated Child Care Centres will be closed on Tuesday, November 11.
  • All branches of the Ottawa Public Library are closed Tuesday, November 11 and there will be no bookmobile service. Regular branch hours and bookmobile service will resume Wednesday, November 12.   • Although municipal offices are closed on Tuesday, November 11, should an urgent matter develop which requires the City's immediate attention, client service representatives are available by calling 3-1-1 or 613-580-2400, (TTY/Teletypewriters only: 613-580-2401). Information on City programs and services is available by visiting the City's website at ottawa.ca.
