After weeks of no transit service, the buses are finally back on the roads.

OC Transpo buses were out on the roads on Saturday, and both the bus riders and the drivers were happy to be back.
Bus riders anxious to get out of their homes and back to their normal lives boarded the bus for the first time in 60 days. For Eleanor Brodie, the return to services is a relief. She depends on OC Transpo to get around, and has been stuck at home for the last few weeks.
The drivers, mechanics and dispatchers of the Amalgamated Transit Union went on strike on December 10th, causing chaos for the city. Their main beef with the city was scheduling. Their dispute came to an end when both sides agreed to send all issues to binding arbitration.
Drivers are happy to be back behind the wheel. While there were some concerns that some frustrated bus riders would take out their anger on the drivers, they say that hasn't happened.
All drivers did receive a memo advising them on how to cope with potentially unruly riders.
Weekday service will start on Monday, but it will be several weeks before it's back to full capacity.
For a full list of the bus routes that will be running on Monday, head to the OC Transpo website.
Stay tuned for the latest.
