The radiobug hit Kevin at an early age. He was born in Pennsylvania, but it was when his father accepted the morning show position at 1050 CHUM, the family moved to Toronto. Kevin's father worked there for 20 years and "Jungle Jay Nelson" became a national radio legend. In the sixties, Kevin drank in the sounds of any radio station his transistor could pick up. By high school, Kevin was following in his father's footsteps with his first radio show. After creating an off-the-cuff humourous style at various Ontario stations, he then worked in Calgary for 10 years. Kevin came back to Ontario to help launch Majic 100 in 1991. In fact, he's the only morning man Majic's ever had. Since then, with co-host Bill Parker, The Majic Morning Show has been a consistent ratings winner. No stranger to television, Nelson has been a guest weather announcer on other stations as well as hosting the Majic 100 Top 20 @ Work Video Countdown on 'A'. Kevin emcee's hundreds of charity events a year, and is thrilled to call Ottawa home.

"I am really excited to be joining up with such a terrific team, and be part of a great newscast. Though when I found out I'd be doing the news from outside, I almost turned it down. However, my butler assures me the bath will be drawn by the time I get home. I think we'll have some fun!"
