Annette Goerner

Videographer:

Born in Vancouver BC, but raised in Windsor Ontario, Annette discovered early on she wanted to pursue a career in journalism. Annette graduated from the Broadcast Journalism Program at Fanshawe College, where she earned an RTNDA award for a documentary on Juvenile Diabetes.  She began a career in radio, working at Windsor's AM 800 CKLW and London's CJBK, reporting and anchoring the news. While working in radio, Annette completed the Television News Program at Fanshawe College. In 2002, she joined CHUM television in London and then on to Windsor.  After four years reporting and anchoring in her hometown, Annette joined 'A' News Ottawa as a Videographer, in November 2006.

Extracurricular:

When she's not working, Annette loves to walk her dog Oliver along the Rideau Canal.  She completed her first triathlon in August 2006, and is training for more in the future.  Annette has been a figure skater since she was 4 years old, so she loves to get out in the winter months and lace up her skates.  When Annette takes time off, she's usually boarding a plane to travel - mostly to visit her family in Germany.

What I Love About My Job:

I'm a news junkie! I love the adrenaline rush of getting a great story to air. There's an incredible amount of satisfaction when I can inform the community about the issues that impact their lives. This profession is always challenging and exciting.
