Anchor/Reporter
Born in London, Ontario, Taz grew up the middle child in a family of three girls. She pursued a career in journalism, after graduating from Carleton University. Before moving to Ottawa in the spring of 2002, Taz spent two and a half years as a general assignment reporter at the 'A' News in Calgary. Previous to that, she was a reporter/fill-in anchor at the CBS affiliate in Erie, PA. Taz is currently a reporter for 'A' News at 6 and anchors the weekend news programs for 'A' News Ottawa.
Education:
Bachelor of Journalism, Carleton University
Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Syracuse University
Extracurricular Activities:
Taz spends most of her spare time with family and friends. She's particularly attached to her nieces Imaan and Aliya, who she says intuitively understand the meaning of happiness. Having studied classical music for many years, Taz also enjoys attending the symphony and is an avid reader. Her favourite book is entitled "The Pigeon" by Patrick Suskind. Taz has travelled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East. In the near future, she'd like to visit Australia, the Czech Republic and South Africa.
What I love About My Job:
"There's nothing better than feeling like you've made a difference. Each day brings with it new challenges and new faces. I can't think of another career that allows for more creativity and reflection."
