Hello and thanks for popping in!
Since I've last updated the Blog, we've launched the new 'A' brand. We also introduced our new weather system.
We hope you like the tweaking and changes. Our new weather system features the most up-to-date technology in forecasting and graphics. At this point, only 7 markets exist that feature it. We're proud to be one of them!
I'm also proud of the dialogue between US and YOU - the viewer. Any input from viewers...good or bad...is vital.
I'm reminded of a recent email pointing out the term I use "seasonable" is wrong, and that it should be "seasonal". (For example..."26 degrees is SEASONABLE for this time of year.")
I've received several e-mails highlighting this exact point in the past. The two words are mostly interchangeable, but factually, SEASONAL is wrong despite almost every weather presenter using it. Research shows that SEASONABLE pertains to weather phenomena, whereas SEASONAL pertains to activities that parallel the particular season. Here are correct usages...
- Snow is SEASONABLE for December.
- Skiing is a SEASONAL sport.
Again...any weather descriptions should use SEASONABLE. Fun stuff, huh?
Anyway...learning new things is definitely cool. And I recently learned the new Offspring album "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace " is not only cool, but awesome!
If you like rock with a bit of South California punk thrown in, you'll love it.
For more on Offspring, check out this website... On another music tip, the countdown is on for Oasis to come to Ottawa.
The best Brit-band in 20 years play Scotia Bank Place September 14. For more on Oasis (one of my personal favorite bands EVER), check out this website...
I've seen Oasis at least 6 times in concert and they always deliver a great time. Very few times have you witnessed 17,000 people all jumping up and down and singing along and hugging each other and getting off on the best rock music that hits your head, heart and soul. I can't wait.
Not only is Oasis a great live band, but to me they're one of the most engaging musically and personally. I've had the pleasure of interviewing Oasis 5 or 6 times and they have ALWAYS proven to be a fun and honest interview...despite their reputation.
I LOVE those guys. And, I LOVE you!
Thanks for reading. And as always...thanks for watching.
Your pal,
Bill W.
BTW...here's a couple of pics with members of Oasis...from 2002 and from 2005.
