The ‘A’ News Annual Great Fame for Food Drive Thursday, December 11th

For the second year, ‘A’ News is hitting the streets to raise donations and awareness for the Ottawa Food Bank. Last year more than 42, 000 lbs of food and over $17 000 was raised for the Ottawa Food Bank.

This annual food drive offers members of the public, groups, businesses and non-profit organizations a chance to be live on-air for food or cash donations to the Ottawa Food Bank.

This year ‘A’ News will be live at the following locations on Thursday, December 11th:

‘A’ OTTAWA – 87 GEORGE ST.
GIANT TIGER – 2480 WALKLEY ROAD
GIANT TIGER – 171 ALEXANDER (PEMBROKE)
LOEB - 6509 Jeanne D'arc Blvd
LOEB - 4048 Carling Ave

Come out and get your 15 seconds of fame! To register your organization have your staff or group work on an internal food drive and then bring the non-perishable food items to one of our drop-off locations on December 11th. Cash donations are also encouraged. For every $1 donated to The Ottawa Food Bank it generates $5 worth of food.

The Great Fame for Food Drive kicks off at 6am on ‘A’ Morning with hosts Kurt Stoodley, Karen Soloman, Angie Poirier and Lianne Laing and continues with live cut-ins throughout the day. ‘A’ News personalities will be stopping by to share in the holiday spirit. We’ll then cap off our day at the Ottawa Food Bank on ‘A’ News at Six with Sandra Blaikie.
