VICTORIA - The Prime Minister is in BC to help celebrate the Olympics and it appears wherever he goes, so do protesters.
Two hundred people gathered on the grounds of the legislature Thursday afternoon and they were not fans of Stephen Harper or his decision to shut down the House of Commons.
Prorogation was the dominant theme for the crowd, but there were other message about everything from animal abuse, to unemployment and climate change.
So many issues that some protesters acknowledge their voice was lost.
It's doubtful the Prime Minister even heard the dissent.
Yesterday a group of protesters in Vancouver managed to delay Stephen Harper's visit to a Chinese cultural centre. Today his security detail took no chances.
The Prime Minister was driven into an underground entrance to the legislature and when protesters lined the same driveway for his departure, he was shuffled out another door.
The protest organizers believe opposition is building against what they say is Harper's lack of respect for democracy.
To that end they say today's protest was a success, reminding the Prime Minister he should be giving speeches in Ottawa not BC.
