/A\ Vancouver Island was proud to sponsor the 2009 Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. Our senior anchor and news director Hudson Mack participated as an official Media Rider.

Hudson engaged in a series of fundraising events throughout the summer.  See below for details of events and monies raised.

 

WIN GAS FOR A YEAR FROM PENINSULA CO-OP - Raised $14,000!

What: Raffle with a prize of $2500 worth of gas, to be redeemed at any Co-op Gas station on Vancouver Island. Reference: BC Gaming License No. 17748.

MATT PHILLIPS CREATES SPECIAL BREW and $6994 is raised!

Matt Phillips, owner of Phillips Brewing Company, created a special project to help us with /A\s charitable initiatives. Click here to find out what it was. The product sold out within a month and we're incredibly grateful to Matt for his help and support.

SERIOUS COFFEE ROASTS TOUR DE ROCK - $400 raised so far!

Serious Coffee is pleased to produce a special blend of their organic, fairly traded coffee in support of Hudson's fundraising efforts for this year's Tour de Rock. These 1 lb bags of coffee will be available at all of their 25 locations across Vancouver Island - while supplies last.

SOUP FOR THE TOUR - Raised $1,000!!!

Where: John's Place, 723 Pandora Avenue

What: the popular Victoria eatery donates $1 from every bowl of Soup of the Day to Hudson's fundraising efforts for TDR

WHAT'S FOR DINNER? with Hudson Mack - Raised $2500!

When: 11 am - 7 pm, August 28 & 7 - 10 pm, Wednesday, September 9, Victoria

What: What's for Dinner? is a convenient meal assembly program that helps you create healthy, tasty dinners at a fraction of the cost of restaurant dining. Only 24 spots are available for this intimate fundraising event on September 9 in What's For Dinner's sparkling, cool and accommodating kitchen. 

TOUR DE BOOTCAMP - Raised $2,500!

What: A series of bootcamps on one day, produced by Melissa Wilson, personal trainer to Hudson Mack. Says Melissa: "Hudson will be there to workout with us throughout the day and to show his thanks for your participation in the event.  He is such a great spirit and ambassador for our community, I would like to support him as much as possible.  For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to meet Hudson before, you will see what I mean on September 12!" 

KIDS IN VICTORIA PLEDGES PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT

Kids In Victoria stepped up to help us promote our fundraising efforts for this year's Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. Kids in Victoria is a local, online parenting resource. 

SOUTHSIDE FOODS MEAT, CHICKEN & GOURMET FOOD FUNDRAISING SALE - Raised $1,500!

In memory of the Owner's Mother, Southside Foods donated 100% of their profits from this fundraiser to support the 2009 Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. Southside Foods is located in Richmond BC and provides food products for hundreds of fundraisers annually. 

GO TO BAT FOR THE TOUR -- total raised $1375!

What: Baseball team The Victoria Seals took on theChico Outlaws and we're on site to collect donations for Tour de Rock.

TELUS TEE OFF FOR THE TOUR  - total raised almost $34,000!

What: a golf tournament in support of Hudson's fundraising efforts, featuring /A\ News personalities.

Sponsors: Telus, Vancouver Island University, Canadian Tire, Shape Property Management and Saunders Subaru. A special thanks to Norm Jackson of Cowichan Golf and Country Club.

ADRENA LINE FUNDRAISING EVENT

 - Total raised $9,000! Thank you!
 
Thanks to Jeremy and Melissa Wilson of Adrena LINE for their generosity in donating partial proceeds from every customer June 20th to the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock! And thanks to all who came out to participate and enjoy the thrill of zipping from tree to tree. Over 200 came out for the fundraiser. /A\ NEWS FASHION SHOW!

 - total raised $4,000! Thank you!

Hudson Mack and your other favorite /A\ British Columbia personalities, as well as riders in the Canadian Cancer Society's Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock took to the catwalk at Canoe Brewpub June 28th, sporting great fashions from British Importers, Sweet Nancy's and Outlooks for Men.
