PORT ALBERNI - The Donovan family says they've been living in a wet soggy mess for the past five weeks. Monique Donovan says when she noticed a leak in the roof of their rental home, she immediately called the property management company looking after the home. A tarp was put up on the roof, but Donovan says it's not keeping the water out.

"The next weekend it rained really hard and we got really wet again," Donovan said. She contacted the property management company again about the leaks, but nothing has been done. "We've got so sick and tired from it we don't know what else to do."

The property management company that looks after the Donovan home declined an on camera interview with A-News. Off camera, the property manager said the leaky roof is an insurance claim and has been turned over to an adjuster. She also said she didn't know when any repair work would be done on the home.

"It really breaks my heart to know that we have to live like this," Donovan said. "We can't afford to move because this is the only rental we can afford."
