VICTORIA - The state of Vancouver Island's economy is the focus of a summit underway in Victoria.
The two day gathering (November 24-25) is designed to provide a forum for stakeholders across Vancouver Island to plan for the future.
Organizers hope participants will come away with renewed excitement about the Island's potential in the global marketplace.
The 2009 State of the Island Economic Summit is hosted by the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance (VIEA.)
The non-profit alliance society is a collaborative partnership spearheading regional economic development.
At the conclusion of this year's summit a declaration will be prepared on behalf of the summit's participants.
The document will embody the fundamentals of the messages delivered at the summit.
