6 Die 2 Survive Saturna float plane crash (VIDEO)

SATURNA ISLAND - The pilot and a female passenger survived a devastating float plane crash off Saturna Island last night.

Six people died including a Vancouver doctor, Kerry Telford Morrissey and her 6-month old daughter Sarah.

Locals played a pivotal role in safely locating the survivors. It was a busy night at the pub, where the Grey Cup game was being televisized, when patrons heard the thud of the plane going down. Several boat owners came to resuce the two people found in the water. Coast Guard dive teams found the remaining passengers in the submerged plane's fuselage at about 1 this morning.
