Meribeth Burton

Senior Reporter / Anchor

Meribeth reports on daily breaking news stories, provides live reports from around Vancouver Island and performs back-up anchor duties for Hudson Mack on /A\ News at 5.

Meribeth has worked in the field of journalism for the past 20 years, most of those years in Victoria. Meribeth is an established anchor with more than a dozen years on the desk, but loves meeting people in the field and feels honored that so many people have shared their deeply personal stories with her.

Volunteerism is another important part of Meribeth's life. She participates and/or emcees more than 30 community events a year. Among her favourites: The Better Business Bureau's Torch Awards, the World Partnership Walk and Monopoly Madness.

Far above her love of journalism and her want to give back to her community; Meribeth's true passion are her children; Kennedy, who is now 8 years old and Baby X, who is now under construction.

Broadcast Journalism, Canadore College North Bay

EXTRACURRICULAR:

Meribeth is the proud mother of two excepional daughters. She enjoys an active lifestyle; golfing, walking, swimming, figure skating and volunteering. Meribeth is a voracious reader and a member of a book club.


Did You Know...

Meribeth starred in a made-for-TV movie with former "Touched by an Angel" star Roma Downey and movie siren Jacqueline Bissett in 2003. Meribeth played a reporter in "The Survivors' Club."
