Mayor Eddie Francis is demanding to know how details of a proposal were leaked to reporters -- which he claims -- has damaged negotiations with striking Windsor city workers.

Talks have broken down again with the union claiming “unfair labour practices” on the part of the city.

On A-News at 11 last night, reporter Daryl Newcombe was the first to report that post-retirement benefits were no longer a bone of contention in the civic workers’ strike.

And what CUPE Local 82 now seeking was a generous lump sum payment, plus specified raises over three years, to return to work.

Tonight on A-News at Six, John Lewis picked up the story.
