Sonya is back on Canadian television screens after a year and half in Los Angeles where she helped launch CBS’s mobile network and brought the Toronto Film Festival exclusively to American viewers for the first time on a mobile platform.
Sonya’s also no stranger to 'A'. She spent three years with 'A' News Ottawa as their entertainment and weather specialist. She was voted one of the top fifty people in the nation’s capital by Ottawa Life Magazine.
Sonya has also worked as a weather specialist for Global Television in Toronto.
Outside of broadcasting, Sonya enjoys anything outdoors and recently learned how to surf. She loves to travel and thinks everyone needs to see Hawaii at some point! Sonya also devotes time to various charities and hopes to continue that work in London.
Sonya has two degrees from Carleton University. Before catching the broadcasting bug she graduated with a B.A. in Criminology and then returned to study journalism.
Sonya is endorsed by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
